Quinoa Rice

This versatile quinoa rice recipe combines white basmati rice and quinoa for a complete protein dish with a delicious nutty flavor and fluffy texture. Perfect for everyday meals and endless side dish options!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup white basmati rice *see notes
  • ½ cup quinoa
  • 1 ¾ cups water

Instructions
 

  • Add both the dry quinoa and dry rice into a fine mesh colander and rinse thoroughly.
  • Add the quinoa, rice, and water into a medium pot and stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, keep it covered, and reduce to a simmer for 15 mins.
  • Fluff the rice quinoa mixutre with a fork and allow it to sit or another 5-10 mins. Serve, and enjoy!

Notes

*Rice: Make sure your the rice you use cooks in around 12-15 minutes. You will need to choose a rice that cooks in around the same about of time as the quinoa. 
A wild rice for example, may take around 45 minutes to cook and would not work in this recipe.
