Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ lemon juiced about 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp agave or honey
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the grill to high heat around 375-400 degrees.
  • Wash asparagus, and remove the woody ends by snapping them off.
  • In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, agave or honey, salt and pepper. Use a basting brush to brush the mixture evenly over the asparagus.
  • Optional: Skewer the asparagus through the thick end. See image above. This will make flipping them easier and prevent them from falling through the grill grates.
  • Place asparagus on the grill, and cook for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway. Serve with an extra squeeze of lemon, and enjoy!
