Ingredients

Tofu

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp oil

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp gochujang (use less if you don't want it too spicy)
  • ½ orange juiced
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup sub honey or agave
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 heaping tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Toppings

  • 2-3 green onions, sliced
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Tear tofu into bite-sized pieces. Toss in a bowl with cornstarch and soy sauce to combine.
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil into a pan on medium heat and cook for about 8 mins or until the tofu is crisp on all sides. (For baking instructions, see notes below)
  • While the tofu is cooking, prepare the sauce by whisking together the orange juice, orange zest, gochujang, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
  • Add the gochujang sauce into the pan with the tofu. Cook until the sauce has thickened and all tofu is coated. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve with rice and steamed vegetables if desired and top with sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy!
