Ingredients

  • 4 whole grain pita pockets
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Italian spice blend

Instructions

  • Cut pitas into 8 equal pieces.
  • Mix olive oil and spice blend together in a small bowl. If your spice blend doesn't have salt, add salt to taste.
  • Add pitas into a bowl and evenly drizzle the olive oil and spice mixture. Mix well to combine so that each pita is lightly coated in oil.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 325 degrees for 4 minutes. Toss pitas at the 4 minute mark. Continue air frying for another 2 minutes, keeping a close eye on them to ensure the pitas don't burn. If needed, toss pitas and air fry for another 1-2 minutes. Pitas should be browned and crispy but not burnt.
  • Serve with your favourite dip, or use as a topping for soups or salads. Enjoy!

Notes

Air Fryer:
Each air fryer is different so your pita chips may cook differently depending on the model you have. Be careful not to burn them. Check pita chips every few minutes to make sure they aren't overdone.
How long do pita chips last?
Once the pita chips are cool, store in an airtight bag for 3-4 days.
What if I don't have italian spice blend?
If you don't have Italian spice blend just use 1/2 tsp of each of the following:
  • salt
  • parsley
  • basil
  • onion
  • garlic
  • thyme and rosemary (optional)
